It's All About the Kids

Every year on May 5th, Japan has a wonderful holiday, (“Kodomo no hi”), that celebrates the youth of its children and their mother's dedication (kind of like Mother’s Day in the U.S.). Japan loves their children and the families that raise them! What better way to show them our love than by featuring a day for them? We want to hear ideas from you about what you like to do when celebrating your family - especially with the little ones.

  • It could be a fun tradition.
  • A game you play.
  • OR anything that you do together as a family (It could be eating sushi).
One interesting option that could be something new and exciting for your family is actually derived from Japanese tradition on this day. Families make kites called "Koinobori" that resemble carp - a fish that in Japan represents strength and courage. There are all types of designs and colors to choose from to best match your kids and your families’ style, and best of all, they come in easy to build kits.

There is a lot of information on this tradition and the kits online. Just Google search "Koinobori." Please give us your much appreciated feedback on this and we will come up with something special for all Ichiban Orlando families.
