We're Looking for Partners and Sponsors for our August 19th Eatup

Last week, we announced that we will be having our next Tweetup event (titled “Eatup” this time around) on Wednesday, August 19th. The info on the event can be found here:

You can RSVP to the event here:

More importantly, this post is to serve as our public inquiry toward searching for partners and sponsors for the event. We are looking for companies that want to bring their brand’s drinking glasses, napkins, signs, coupons, etc for all attendees. In return, we are simply requesting aggressive promotion for the event.

If you are at all interested in being a part of the event, please send an email to:

We’re looking forward to working with some great companies!

Next Ichiban Orlando "Eatup" is August 19th

Like we have done so many times before, we are hosting yet another Tweetup on Wednesday, August 19th. We have decided to change the name of the event to an "Eatup," rather than a Tweetup, since we feel it is more appropriate for the ambiance at our events. After all, eating is strongly endorsed at our Tweetups, as many of you already know.

Also, because of the struggles in the past with times (lunch v dinner), we are going to encourage everyone to come which ever time they can. Our first ever Tweetup was a lunchtime event and everyone enjoyed themselves very much. The next few times we hosted them at dinnertime and a handful of people voiced their complaints in not being able to make it after work.

So our idea is to offer a versatile Tweetup schedule on the day of the event. We will have one at 12:30 during lunch and another at 6:00pm for an after-work dinner and/or drink. You can come to one or you can come to both. Just know that we will be giving out prizes at this one!

To conclude, we are pleased to be carving out an all-day sushi event for Orlando on Wednesday, August 19th. We hope that this message will transcend to all other sushi restaurants throughout Central Florida. The goal is to have everyone craving the deliciousness of sushi together all day.

Cool and Light On a Hot and Heavy Day

This Florida heat can be brutal, so do not let a heavy lunch weight you down. A sushi roll in the middle of your work day will give you the right amount of protein and carbohydrates to fuel your body and mind for the rest of the day. Feel light and be able to work instead of heavy and in need of a nap.

It's because of the hot summer that we are offering 10% off all meals when the temperature outside exceeds 95 degrees.

THE CATCH: You have to prove the current weather to our hostess by showing him/her a device that displays the current temperature. Otherwise, there is no way for us to know!

We will also allow anyone to alert us via Twitter (@orlandoichiban) during these sweltering times. We will then respond with a secret "heat" code that you can flaunt upon your order.

This hot campaign will go on until August 31st. So although you may despise the Florida sun, you should hope that the sun shows its pretty face at least a few times within the next month.

Thinking inside the box-the Bento Box, that is.

Remember what boxed lunch used to mean? For many, it was bartering with Yodels and Lunchable components, hoping you’ll come up with the right offer to make a good trade and snag the snack bag of potato chips your mom refused to buy. Here at Orlando Ichiban, we have a different way of doing things-cue Bento Box.

Although the concept of the Bento Box is nothing new (its Japanese origins have been traced back to the 5th century), we’re willing to bet many avid sushi lovers overlook the option. In Japan, traditional Bento Boxes range from anything between disposable trays for lunch on the go, to elaborately decorated boxes with attention to detail and aesthetic symmetry.

With different compartments for sauces, rice, noodles, meat, and vegetables, the types of Bento Boxes available are virtually limitless. Some presentations even concentrate on arranging the edible contents of the Bento Box into animals or cartoon characters! At Ichiban, our focus is on flavor and making sure our customer enjoys the most satisfying sampling we can offer.

Check out Bento Boxes on our lunch and dinner menus and be the kid everyone wants to make a trade with.
