An Improved Reservation System
A few months ago, we mentioned our discontent with OpenTable and our desire to implement our own reservation system. We did so, but there seemed to be a crack in the system we built.
For reasons still unknown to us (known to our team of nerds, however), our owners/hostesses weren't getting the notifications when reservations were being made on the site. We don't know what changed or how the system broke, but it came as quite a surprise to us when customers would come in referencing a reservation that we had no forewarning of.
After a few too many of these debacles, we made sure the nerds looked deeper into the problem. It wasn't too long before they came back to us with a reasoning. Apparently, there was a problem with one of our email accounts and the way the message was forwarding to the important recipient parties. Needless to say, they fixed the issue immediately, and even went the extra mile to upgrade the reservation process for our customers.
So, not only does the system work flawlessly (and has been for the last two weeks), but you no longer have to worry about making the reservations with a unique email address. On top of that, one of the team members from the Marketing firm that we work with will email you to confirm your reservation very shortly after you create it.
